Many associate cleansing the palate with wine; however, it is also a food term, referring to the process of preparing one's taste buds for a new taste experience - to begin with a clean slate, if you will. I am not a professional chef, but food is an incredible passion. I support the notion that one can eat just about anything if done in moderation. I also believe in using organic ingredients and grass-fed meats. I do not use trans fats or high fructose corn syrups when I cook. This does not mean I am afraid to use butter...used in moderation it is a beautiful thing! I don't believe in diets, but rather lifestyles. I eat good food, sometimes not so healthy, but it all balances out in the end. Other than actual food allergies or medical conditions, I don't think one has to eliminate certain foods from their diet - but rather can incorporate 'bad' foods in small amounts on an occassional basis...
"FORK AND SPINE"...an online food-themed book club!
"Fork and Spine" is the title for my new online book club. The books chosen will have some sort of food theme, be it mystery, educational, autobiographical, etc. I hope to begin sometime in the summer of 2010, at which time I will announce the title of the first book. I am new to the book club genre, and need the time to figure out how it will work. I welcome any thoughts, suggestions, and book ideas.
